Cougar Pride formed Cougar Pride Parents Association (Parent Pride) in 2005. CPPA's purpose is two-fold: one, to continue the Athletics Department's focus on enhancing the student athlete's experience while at UH, and two, to encourage and promote participation among student athletes' parents. Cougar Pride promotional brochures are mailed to every student-athlete's parents with a copy of Cougar Tracks. A special donation category exists within Cougar Pride, known as Parent Pride. Special decals denoting the parents association are mailed to individuals who make a donation. Parent Pride operates as an individual committee under the guidance of its own Advisory Committee with the Cougar Pride Advisory Committee as Executive Board.

Parent Pride schedules events that enhance a parent's understanding of their son or daughter's experience as a student. Parent Pride events include enjoying tailgating at all home football games in the Cougar Pride pavilion.* Student-Athlete Academic Recognition Day includes a Parent Orientation. Parents participating that day enjoy meeting representatives for Academic Student-Services, Housing, UH Police Department, Dean of Students, Admissions, and the Health and Wellness Center. Orientation includes a tour of the Academic Center for Excellence, an opportunity to visit with academic counselors, see the tutoring and computer centers, review a sample class schedule and discuss a "day in the life" of a UH student-athlete.

More Parent Pride events include Homecoming Open House and Student Parade and Parent Appreciation Day *; Parent Weekend with tours of the Athletics Building, Mock Class Workshops, and meet the academic advisor staff and faculty mentors followed with watching our own Cougars in Hofheinz Pavilion *; and a Grill on the Hill Parent and Student Mixer where good food and spring weather is topped off with Cougar baseball. *
