Shelton Ervin begins his second season as a part-time assistant coach at the University of Houston after graduating from UH in December 2004. As a part-time assistant coach, Ervin assists with coaching Houston's middle distance runners. Ervin was named assistant coach after serving as a student coach in 2004. He also competed in the 400 and 800 meters for the Cougars during the 2002 and 2003 seasons. He came to Houston after beginning his collegiate career at the University of Kansas, where he was a member of the Jayhawks' 4x400-meter relay team and competed in the 800 meters. Born August 19, 1980 in Jasper, Texas, Ervin was a high school All-America selection at Westbury High School in Houston. |
